Warm Weather Recreation

It's often noted that locals "come to Jackson Hole for the winter but stay here for the summer." Explore the quiet trails and alpine lakes beneath the towering Teton Range, or experience the spectacular geysers and bubbling hot pots of Yellowstone National Park, both just a short drive away. Play a round on one of the area’s world-class golf courses, or enjoy some of the most spectacular fly-fishing in the country on the area’s many rivers, lakes and streams. Get your adrenaline pumping with a whitewater rafting or kayak trip, a rock climbing course, a tandem paraglide flight, or an early-morning journey in a hot air balloon. Or, just glide down Snow King Mountain on our popular Alpine Slide. Explore the mountains and the valley on a guided wildlife expedition or mountain bike tour, take a scenic chairlift or aerial tram ride to the "top of the world", or ride horseback through pristine wildflower meadows. The opportunites for summer fun and adventure are endless, and the memories will last a lifetime.

Winter Recreation and Activities

In Winter, skiers and snowboarders can test their limits on the steeps, cruise impeccably groomed trails, or float through light, dry powder at any of three area resorts. Snow King Mountain has ski-in/ski-out access from our lodges, as well as night skiing, a terrain park and a snow tubing park. Grand Targhee receives more light powder snow than most resorts in the country, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is famous for its steep and deep terrain. Snow King is the only hotel to offer ski packages which allow you to ski any of the three resorts on any day. If you need to brush up on your skills or find your away around these vast mountains, your Personal Assistant can arrange lessons or guides at any resort. For the experience of a lifetime, try heli-skiing in the Snake River Range, or take a guided backcountry tour on Teton Pass or outside the boundaries of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

 All three ski areas host races, clinics and special events throughout the Winter. In November, Snow King hosts early season training for racers from around the world as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup season. Throughout the winter, local racers train and compete on the steep slopes of Snow King Mountain. The Town Downhill is always an exciting event to watch. Snow King also hosts a Kids Carnival, holiday torchlight parades, and the World Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb the last weekend of March. At Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you can challenge your buddies in the NASTAR course, or watch pro and FIS races held each season. Test your limits in one of Jackson Hole’s Wild West Adrenaline Camps, including a Race Camp, Steep and Deep Camps for Skiers, Snowboarders and Telemark Skiers, Backcountry Camps, and Women’s Camps. Other events include the holiday Children’s Torchlight Parade, the Wyoming Special Olympics, Celebrity Ski Challenge, Powder 8’s competitions, half-pipe and terrain park competitions, free ski competitions, the Marmot/Life-Link Randonee Rally, and the annual Cowboy Ski Challenge. Snow King and Grand Targhee also host winter holiday torchlight parades. Enjoy X-Team Advanced Ski Clinics, the Chicks Rule Snowboard Camp, and annual events inluding the Budweiser Spring Snow Games, Teton Telephoria, Bordercross, and the famous Cardboard Box Derby. The fun never stops in Jackson Hole.

Off the slopes, you can snowmobile or take a snow coach tour through Yellowstone, dog sled to a hot spring, trek through Grand Teton National Park on snowshoes, cross-country ski beneath the Tetons, or ride on a sleigh through a herd of 7,000 elk on the National Elk Refuge. Ice skating is an option as well, at two outdoor rinks and at Snow King Center’s indoor ice rink. Our local ice hockey team, the Jackson Hole Moose, play almost every weekend in Winter, and it is always an action-packed game. Another evening option is a dinner sleigh ride beneath star-filled, winter skies to a quiet, log cabin in the woods with a roaring fire, fine dining, warm drinks and gentle acoustic music.

Year Round

Jackson’s Recreation Center offers lap and children’s pools with water slide. There are tennis courts at Teton Pines and Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis. Also available are 3 lighted, winter-ready platform tennis courts at Snow King Resort. Conference Facilities are available year round. Please contact our concierge for a list of year round activities.
